About Us

Who we are?

Since 2010, we have been helping women who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. At that time, one of the first Centers for Integral Guardianship in Ukraine was created
women To support the life of the Center and the needs of its residents, in 2012 we started a social enterprise bakery-confectionery “Walnut House”.

Today, under the name “Walnut House” there is a social enterprise, which includes a bakery, a pastry shop and catering services, as well as a Foundation that takes care of
women in difficult life circumstances. 40% of profit from business activities is directed to the Fund’s programs. In turn, the Walnut House Foundation helps
women to gain social, psychological and economic stability.

Our principle of working with women is targeting and significant impact.
We provide social services and psychological support to specific women, depending on the need and situation, over a long period of time. Our goal is to provide a woman
opportunities and create prerequisites under which she will be able to independently improve her life and not return to crisis conditions in the future.

Key areas of activity of the “Walnut House” Foundation:

  • Center of integral care for women in crisis situations named after Olga Tsіpanovska,
  • Educational and motivational programs for women,
  • Supporting women in the development of their own business,
  • Mobile medical and psychological services and psychosocial support groups,
  • Educational partnership in preschool.

Our history

September 2010

The Integral Care Center for women who find themselves in a crisis situation began its work in Lviv at Staroznesenska Street, 58. Such a women’s center became the first in
throughout Western Ukraine. Over 6 years of activity, about 90 women became clients of the Center, 80% of whom successfully passed the integration program and returned to their usual, not
crisis, living conditions.

2012

In order to maintain the Center, a social enterprise bakery-confectionery “Walnut House” was founded, part of the profit of which is directed to the needs of the activity
Fund.

November 2016

The premises we rented for the Center were sold. On December 1, the Lviv City Council leased a building at 90 Lychakivska Street to the Foundation
Nut House”, which needs major repairs.

2020

While the reconstruction of the premises of the future Women’s Center continues, the “Walnut House” Foundation continues to implement programs and projects aimed at women from the most
vulnerable social categories.

April 2021

The final stage of the long-awaited reconstruction has started, after which the Center for Integral Care for Women in Difficult Situations will become a comfortable place to live and work
with public space.
