“Field of changes” in the environment

In 2023 The “Walnut House” Foundation launched a Ukrainian-German partnership in preschool on the basis of the “Field of changes” program.

The program is implemented:

The Lviv Education Department of the Development Department of the Lviv City Council,

The Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers Lviv

in cooperation with

AWO Bezirksverband Oberbayern e.V.,

The Hans Weinberger Academy of the Workers’ Welfare Charity/Hans Weinberger Akademie.

The Walnut House Foundation coordinates the Ukrainian-German partnership in preschool.

The program envisages the implementation of a pilot model of innovative development of preschool education on the basis of 3 Lviv kindergartens – “Free” (No. 102), “Levomriy” (No. 149) and “First Steps” (No. 88).

The first results of the “Field of Changes” program:

In June 2024, as part of the implementation of the “Field of Changes” program, an educational trip of Lviv educators to Bavaria took place. Among its most iconic components:

  • Meeting with program implementation partners – representatives of AWO Bezirksverband Oberbayern e.V. – a long-standing partner of the Foundation and one of the largest organizations in Germany, which deals with conceptual approaches and management, in particular in preschool,
  • Training of Ukrainian teachers, educational managers and the Foundation’s educational team in preschool approaches by representatives of the Hans Weinberger Akademie,
  • Familiarization visits to three preschools in Munich, including a “forest kindergarten” focused on maximizing children’s exposure to nature and learning through environmental exploration,
  • A meeting and discussion of German-Ukrainian cooperation in preschool with the participation of the Head of the Department of Education of the LMR Andrii Zakaluk, Executive Director of the Nut House Foundation Yury Lopatynskyi and members of the Parliament of Bavaria,
  • Planning the next steps of the introduction of a new model of preschool education in the Lviv territorial community within the framework of the “Plain of Change” pilot program.

In August 2024, the Nut House Foundation conducted an in-depth training on the aspects of implementing the concept of preschool education developed by German partners in the implementation of early care groups for babies from 12 months.

Since September, the “Vilny” and “Levomry” kindergartens have started working with early care groups for children who have reached the age of 12 months, using new adapted approaches based on the principles of solidarity, tolerance, freedom, equality and justice.
